Third seminar of Youth Climate Series on 18 December, 2021.
The topic was “A Cultural Response to the Climate Crisis: Does Asian Civilization offer an Alternative?”.
In this time , we invited Tipakson Manpati talked and shared experiences from field visits on the Mekong situation, villagers’ opinions on climate change as well as their adaptation.
Also, Dr. Emanuel Pastreich talked aboutAsian Cultures which make us to discuss on cultural response to the climate crisis.
Tipakson Manpati is a web manager of Mekong Commons website, an online platform created for sharing and discussing critical perspectives on current issues of development, ecology and society in the Mekong Region. She has BA. in Mass Communication from Chiang Mai University and MA. in International Development Studies from Chulalongkorn University. She has been working and monitoring the issues related to the Mekong River for more than 10 years.
Dr. Emanuel Pastreich is a president of the Asia Institute and expert on East Asian culture and international relations.
