In light of the unprecedented environmental threat posed by the radiation leaking from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, it is urgent that the world come together as one to propose a long-term global solution that includes both experts and concerned citizens from around the world. That solution must stress international cooperation to develop new technologies and approaches to produce a permanent solution to this disaster over the next 30 years. But we also need to consider include social, cultural and institutional innovations that will make such massive collaboration possible.
How can we take the technological, social and cultural challenges and effectively break them down so they can be addressed by a coalition of the concerned around the world? We will take the first steps at this meeting to draft a concise and powerful white paper for an international response to the Fukushima nuclear crisis. The Asia Institute invites you to join us. Anyone is welcome to join this extremely critical discussion, but try to RSVP us in advance.
