Interview with Director Pastreich

about

the Constitution of Information

Layne Hartsell interviewed Emanuel Pastreich, director of the Asia Institute, concerning an on-going project at the Asia Institute that considers what the parameters would be for a “constitution of information” that could respond to the challenges of the current information revolution. Pastreich suggests that the recent NSA scandals, although extremely serious, are best seen as part of a larger problem related to the exponential drop in the cost of gathering, interpreting and manipulating information. He suggests that the confusion borne of that process is just starting.
