The Asia Institute and Kyung Hee Cyber University held the first of a series of lectures by outstanding scholars from around the world.

Professor John Treat spoke on July 10 about the undergraduate education at Yale University (with comments by Emanuel Pastreich). He discussed the unique aspects of the Yale undergraduate education and offered a historical context. Professor Treat spoke on July 11 about the Japanese author Murakami Haruki (with remarks by Professor Park Sang-Hyun, Dean of Kyung Hee Cyber University & Emanuel Pastreich) and his literary works making suggestions as to how the nature of literature itself has shifted in the last few decades.
